River City Poetry is currently on Sabbatical through 2021 and will open for submissions again in January 2022.
River City Poetry is an online poetry magazine based in Wichita, Kansas. Published twice a year, our Spring and Fall issues showcase selections from featured poets both regional and from around the country. We celebrate community, collaboration, and the intersectionality of our modern world. We believe there should be more spaces and places that celebrate poetry.
Our reviewers consist of managing editor April Pameticky, Raylyn Clacher, and Roy Beckemeyer. For further queries or questions about our selection process, email rivercitypoetrysubmissions [@] gmail.com
As part of our mission to serve our poetry and art community, River City Poetry sponsors the Wichita Broadside Project, a poster project pairing artists and poets together in the creation of new work that can be displayed around our community.
Given the current circumstances around the global COVID19 pandemic, the Wichita Broadside Project has shifted to a digital product with a revolving submission window through September 2020. For more information, visit our Facebook page, our Submittable page, or here at RCP.
River City Poetry also reviews short poetry books and chapbooks. For more information, visit Chapbook Reviews.
Older issues of River City Poetry are available as downloadable PDFs through our RCP Archive.

Special thanks for the use of the gorgeous panoramic of the iconic Keeper of the Plains to LK Architecture, the company that designed the Arkansas River corridor through Wichita. Rob McHenry was the photographer.
